These are mix of coaching and shredding. The aim is to have a chilled and fun time riding a mix of terrain. It could be piste, side hits, flatland, snow park, or powder etc.

We’ll be actively reviewing your skills and knowledge and filling in the blanks throughout a week of riding. They’re not an intense de-construction of boarding, but a gentle review and build up of skills mixed in-between some fun shredding.

This also isn’t a heavy hiking for fresh tracks course. Sure hitting up some fresh powder will be on the cards, but it’s not the overarching focus. It’s about building solid riders who can ride any terrain on the mountain with confidence and control.

To enable to crew to easily access additional freeride areas all participants should have their own or hired for the start of the course some suitable avalanche equipment (transceiver, shovel & probe). We can advise and help with this process as we do hold limited hire options for avalanche equipment.

We have provided detailed rider ability guidelines for this course, so you can more easily deduce if this camp is right for you.

This course includes:
7 Nights shared B&B accommodation in The Larcherhof
5 Days mixed coaching and guiding

Apartments are typically shared between two people with the option of twin or double arrangements, however, we do try to arrange a single room, depending on how busy the hotel is. If you would like to guarantee a single room, we suggest booking your own accommodation within Mayrhofen or Hollenzen (just outside Mayrhofen). If you're allocated a single room a small additional charge of £100 will be added to your course fees.

If you have any questions about this course, please review our travel guide, explanation of the course levels, kit list's or FAQ's and then feel free to drop us a line.

What the riders think...

"I rate the winter camp super highly. It's taken me from dipping my toe into off piste to being confident in it across different conditions. Mayrhofen is a great location as well with lots of different mountains to explore with hidden powder stashes. Having a top tier guide and coach helps find those stashes and connect them together - whilst you are getting your skills up. The hotel is fab and meals out after an awesome day in the mountains are great too."

"Hands down the best snowboarding trips are with Maverix! I have been going on the trips in Austria since 2017 and always have the most amazing adventures. James is a first class coach and guide, he knows all of the best spots for fresh powder on the mountains and also all of the best local food. We want for nothing when we are with him. The only downside to the trip is when it's over. But that's when you can book the next one and count down the days until you're shredding again."

"J made us work hard, but with that came great reward. I've hit a bit of side-piste before but being lead by J, we spent a good amount of time out of sight of groomed runs but within the resort boundaries, hitting the untracked pow fields that Mayrhofen has to offer. I felt my off-piste confidence grow exponentially."

Please make sure you read and understand the riding levels required for this course, as those riders who do not meet the required standards may be unable to complete their course and will not be offered a refund. Our Austrian adventures are not recommended for under 18's.
