Les Deux Alpes is among Europe’s largest ski resorts. The summer terrain spreads out on two glaciers - the Mont de Lans and the Girose - and is reputed to be the largest in Europe. There are 17 lifts operating on busy days, including a speedy underground funicular. The vertical drop, a staggering 6,000 feet in winter, shrinks to a still-respectable 2,400 feet in summer. With 500 acres to roam, summer riders find Deux Alpes far roomier than most glacial areas.

Les Deux Alpes features one of the best and biggest freestyle snowboard fun parks in Europe! With beginner, intermediate and advanced areas, you’ll find kickers and spines of different sizes, all kinds of rails: s-rails, kink-rails, rainbow-rails,  mailboxes; and of course two large half-pipes! Further more, there is a kicker with a huge air-bag on the landing area in order to learn new tricks risk free.

There are 4 blue runs, 2 green, 2 red, all within a short gondola ride for the centre of town. The ski area is open from 7.15am - 1.00pm. With Maverix heading up around 8.15am to avoid the rush and bag the best conditions. As expected the weather is 90% crystal blue skys, with snow often topping up the piste due to the high altitude. With the extensive use of t-bars our sessions are not recommended for complete beginners.

Les Deux Alpes is also a paradise for bikers. It offers more than 120 km of trails with amazing downhill features and a well equipped bike park. In fact Les Deux Alpes is home of several DH-MTB competitions and events during the summer.

Travel Guide

Les Deux Alpes is situated 70km from Grenoble town centre (approx 1.15 hour drive), 177km from Lyon airport (approx 2 hour drive).

By Plane
We recommend a morning flight from the UK to allow for the easiest transfer to the resort, and an evening return flight back to the UK to allow ample time to get to the airport from the resort. We recommend flying to Lyon Airport. The last bus to the resort is 17.50pm from Grenoble train/bus station, so allow ample time to make your connections unless you would like a transfer with us.

By Car
We recommend DFDS Seaways Ferries or Euro Tunnel. Tolls are approx €60. When driving to the resort using sat nav, please make sure you take the D1091 all the way to the Lac Du Chambon, and turn right after a small tunnel onto D213. Sat nav can take you up a nasty mountain road so watch out for this. The D213 will take you all the way to the resort. Cars and or vans can be hired from Lyon airport. The drive is approx 9 hours from Dunkirk.

By Train
By rail from London. Catch the Eurostar to Paris (Gare du Nord) and transfer to the high-speed TGV (Gare du Lyon) direct to Grenoble station. Please allow apply time to change between trains in Paris, as the journey can take approx 45mins-1hour. We recommend buying your Metro ticket in St Pancras to avoid delays in paris. If you buy your ticket in Paris look for some additonal ticket booths as the main ticket booth gets very busy.

By Coach
Coach travel can be very resonable when booked through Eurolines. They provide travel direct to Grenoble bus/train terminal so you only have one more short bus ride to the resort.

Travel Transfers

From Lyon to Grenoble
Faure Vercors runs a service directly from outside the airport (Lyon St Exupery). This service runs on the hour from Lyon. It takes approx 1.5 hours to transfer to Grenoble train station. The cost is approx 33 euros return for adults and 16.50 euros for kids.

From Grenoble Train/Bus station to Les Deux Alpes
The bus and the train station are at the same location. The last bus to the resort leaves approx 17:50pm. Unless a specific transfer has been arranged, please allow ample time to get to the bus station from the airport. It takes approx 1.5 hours to get from the train station to the resort. Transisere bus number 3030 is the only bus direct to the resort. Bus number 3000 goes to Bourg D'Oisans, then 3030 to Les Deux Alpes. A ticket can be purchased at the bus ticket office adjacent to the train station for approx 5 Euros. Once you arrive in resort we highly recommend you buy a return ticket from Agency VFD as there are very few buses leaving the resort on Saturdays and they may be fully booked.
