Park and Piste Safety

The key focus for Maverix is the safety of all participants on it's courses. The freestyle apects of snowsports can be hassardous. Therefore we adhere to a set of key guidelines in coaching and park safety to enable our clients to have the most fun without having to overly worry about their own well being.

We ask all attendees to sign waivers making sure they have read and understand the hazards of snowsports and their responsibilities on the piste.

The Smart Style Program

There are four main messages that are associated with Smart Style:

Make a plan

Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing

Look before you leap

Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.

Easy style it

Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended)

Respect gets respect

From the lift line through the park. Respect the terrain and the people in it.

The video also illustrates the ATML method: Approach, Take-Off, Maneuver, and Landing. The video highlights an instrumental message in freestyle terrain use: avoid the backseat and land on your feet.

Key Points to the Video
