Once he got back to London he enrolled in a learn to ride and teach programme at Hemel Ski Centre. Luckily this was under the guidance of one of the founding fathers of snowboarding in the UK, Rob Needham.

After teaching part-time for a few years, he headed off for his first couple of seasons in Chamonix. Following the freedom of riding all day Picture: Val Senales Skate Parkwith no responsibilities it was time to make the snowboarding pay.

This resulted in heading to the breading ground of riders like Danny Kass, Pat Moore and Todd Richards and hitting up the East Coast of the States. He managed to mix it up with the future kids of world snowboarding under the watchful eyes of Travis Moore from SASS, and Travis Capobianco. They opened his mind to different ideas of snowboard coaching and pushed his technical riding to the limit.

After a couple of years with those guys it was back to the UK to apply all he had learnt to the UK market, and so Maverix Snow Camp was born.
